# 4.4 Automated Payments

Roborus integrates **on-chain escrow contracts** that automate payments, ensuring fairness for all parties.

* **Job Escrow Contract**: When a client creates a job, funds are locked in escrow before work begins.
* **Automated Release**: Once the robot submits valid proofs, the contract releases payment instantly.
* **Reputation Update**: Each verified job updates the agent’s reputation score, recorded immutably on-chain.
* **No Middlemen**: There is no central operator holding payments, reducing fraud, bias, or manipulation.

This financial automation creates a **trustless economic layer** for robotics: clients never overpay, and robots are always rewarded fairly for verified work.
